The Pew Research Center's 2013 “Social Media Update” stated that 73 percent of those adults they surveyed who were online had a profile on a social‐media site of some sort, and 42 percent of adults have a profile on more than one site. While institutions have traditionally used social‐media channels as a way to reach out to and engage younger students, this is a strategy that could help you better connect with your adult learners.
