Summary A new nonconforming brick element is introduced, which only has 13 DOFs locally and takesP 2 ⊕ Span { x 1 3 , x 2 3 , x 3 3 } as its shape functions space. The vector‐valued version generates, together with a discontinuousP 1approximation, an inf‐sup stable finite element pair of order 2 for the Stokes problem in the energy norm.
