A Boundary Element approach for dynamic poroelastic problems in the frequency domain is presented. The technique is based on an integral equation formulation in terms of solid displacements and fluid stress. The analogy between dynamic poroelasticity and thermoelasticity in the frequency domain is used to obtain the fundamental solution. The Boundary Elements formulation is developed and the numerical aspects related to the integration of the fundamental solution kernels analysed. A computer code for two‐dimensional problems is implemented and validated by solving two basic problems. The obtained numerical results are compared with the corresponding exact solutions.
