The boundary element formulation for three‐dimensional problems of steady state (periodic) dynamic analysis has been cast into the generalized axisymmetric form by expressing the boundary tractions and displacements in terms of a Fourier series expansion. The resulting formulation has been developed for the dynamic analysis of axisymmetric geometries subjected to non‐axisymmetric loading. The analysis has been implemented in a large general purpose analysis capable of analysing both finite as well as semi‐infinite domains and a series of examples has been shown to demonstrate the versatility of the implementation.
