A numerical method for the direct determination of stress intensity factors at crack tips from the numerical solution of the corresponding singular integral equations is proposed. This method is based on the Gauss‐Chebyshev method for the numerical solution of singular integral equations and is shown to be equivalent to the Lobatto‐Chebyshev method for the numerical solution of the same class of equations.
