Abstract The paper presents a method of identification of material behaviour parameters. The method is applied to a simple example: the identification of orthotropic parameters using a plate bending test. A number of results are presented concerning the choice of numerical algorithm, the experimental protocole (number and locations of test points, loading) and the sensitivity of the method on experimental errors.
