Abstract A FORTRAN subroutine is presented which solves the system of simultaneous linear equations associated with the finite difference representation of the Poisson equation for rectangular or annular regions. The code is arranged to require minimum storage, and all possible operations involving known zeros and ones are suppressed. Single subscripting is employed to minimize execution time.
