The application of quasilinearization to non‐linear systems

This paper presents a method of solving systems of simultaneous non‐linear partial differential equations using the method of lines and the method of quasilinearization‐superposition in combination. The advantages of the method over those methods more generally used are discussed and an example of the application of the method to the two‐dimensional momentum and energy equations considering temperature‐dependent and/or shear‐rate dependent viscosity is given.
