To obtain meshes of reasonable form there have to be made some restrictions in the application of automatic mesh generation schemes using ‘isoparametric’ co‐ordinates. In this present paper it will be shown that such restrictions exist for plane meshes. The results figured here are also valid for three‐dimensional meshes.
