M uch of the following may sound like review. But there may just be some things here you might want to learn. As I see it, there are two customary reasons to attend a trade show: to gain knowledge and to have ’a good time’. And, of course, the two are not mutually exclusive. The proportion of each motivation depends, of course, on the individual. I’m going to assume that you are primarily concerned with learning what’s new, with diversions reserved for your spare time. As you probably are aware, all trade shows are not alike. Some, such as PC Expo, home in mainly on one area. Others, such as ComNet, have a broader approach to networking technology.
