This article deals with the evaluation of bandwidth measurements in Gigabit Ethernet Systems using an empirical data model. It concentrates on the use of multimode fibers due to the advent of Vertical Surface Emitting Laser (VCSEL) technology that improves the performance of multimode fiber optics.
