Value of volunteer service estimated at $28.54/hour

The latest analysis of U.S. economic data conducted by the Independent Sector puts the average value of volunteer service in 2020 at $28.54 per hour, an increase of 4.9% from the $27.20 per hour estimate calculated for 2019. This marks the third straight year of sizeable jumps: 2019 saw an increase of $1.77 from the year before, and 2018 saw a 74‐cent increase over 2017, the IS said. Since the organization began tracking this data in 2001, the value of volunteer service has risen $12.27 per hour.
