The latest analysis of U.S. economic data conducted by the Independent Sector puts the average value of volunteer service in 2018 at $25.43 an hour, up 74 cents (3 percent) from 2017 and $1.29 from 2016. Since 2001, when the organization began tracking this metric, the value of an hour of volunteer service has risen a total of $9.16 per hour, the IS said.
