While recent surveys offer positive news when it comes to philanthropy among the nation's most affluent households, there is some concern that too much “philanthropic power” is in the hands of a relatively small group of very wealthy individuals and foundations, which could have a negative impact on the philanthropic sector's effectiveness and independence.
