Seattle‐based coffee giant Starbucks has teamed with Points of Light on a pilot program that demonstrates a new, more targeted approach to employee volunteer programs. Dubbed Starbucks Service Fellows, the program will find the company “lending” dozens of its employees from strategic markets around the country to spend half their workweek serving at Points of Light–selected volunteer service organizations, helping to bolster capacity while learning valuable skills that will benefit the volunteers in their careers going forward.
