New data analysis conducted by the Johns Hopkins Center for Civil Society Studies shows that the nonprofit sector is far outpacing the private sector when it comes to job growth. Drawing on the latest report from the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics—which included employment data through 2016, the most recent year available—the center said nonprofits added over three times as many jobs as the for‐profit sector.
