In the wake of the #MeToo movement that has made headlines across the country and opened the public's eyes to the extent of sexual harassment in Hollywood and elsewhere, new research shows that the fundraising industry faces its own demons in this regard. Per the research, conducted by Harris Poll on behalf of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy and The Chronicle of Philanthropy , about one in four female fundraisers has experienced sexual harassment at work at some point in their careers. Adding men into the mix—7 percent of whom have experienced similar treatment—a full 21 percent of U.S. fundraisers have experienced some kind of sexual harassment in the field.
