Analysis of detrusor pressure‐flow measurements with the aid of the IBM compatible software package CLIM in 22 patients studied before and after transurethral prostatic resection (TURP) indicated— 1 that CLIM supplies reliable obstruction and contractility parameters that are recommended for preoperative assessment and follow up; and 1 that 25% of the patients presenting with “prostatism” are non‐obstructed, suggesting that the indication for a TURP is over‐assessed.
