Twenty women with urinary incontinence performed three pad‐weighing tests each, two of these in the Department of Urology, the third in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Comparison of the test results from the two departments showed significantly different median urine losses, ie, 9 g and 24 g ( P < .05). The results of the two tests carried out in the Department of Urology were not significantly different: the median urine losses were 24 g and 21 g ( P > .1). It is concluded that the pad‐weighing test is or limited value for interdepartmental comparison since different investigators may obtain significantly different results.
