The effect of bladder capacity on the urethral sensitivity threshold in 30 unselected patients is described. A significant reduction in the urethral sensitivity threshold with increasing bladder capacity was demonstrated and the significance of this is discussed. A “normal” pattern of urethral sensitivity changes in patients with no urodynamic abnormality is postulated.
