The present paper examines the axisymmetric problem related to the loading of a rigid circular anchor plate which is embedded in bonded contact with an isotropic elastic half‐space. A Hankel transform development of the governing equations is used to reduce the associated mixed boundary value problem to a set of coupled Fredholm integral equations of the second kind. These equatons are solved in a numerical fashion to generate results of engineering interest. In particular, the results indicate the influence of the depth of embedment on the axial stiffness of the rigid anchor plate.
