Intracerebral glucose resonance was directly detected and resolved in vivo by two‐dimensional shift‐correlated (COSY) 1 H NMR spectroscopy in anesthetized rats ( n = 4). The relative changes in brain glucose concentration were measured by volume integration of the α‐D‐glucose cross peak in the 2D COSY spectra. This report demonstrates the possibility of monitoring the variations in cerebral glucose following iv injection of glucose.
