The current distribution on thin conductors and rf field homogeneity for rf coils is described theoretically. After a pedagogical introduction to the techniques and an exact solution for the current or an isolated strip conductor, this article describes current distribution and field uniformity for a variety of conventional and quadrature rf coil designs. © 1986 Academic Press, Inc.
