NMR study of the structure of the nitration intermediate of furfural

The structure of the intermediate obtained in the come of the nitrationof 2‐furancarboxaldehyde was investigated by means of 1 H and 13 C NMR. It was shown unambiguously that this intermediate is 2‐acetoxy‐2‐diacetogymethyl‐5‐nitro‐2,5‐dihydrofuran.
