A number of organotin compounds have been studied using the heteronuclear double resonance H 1 ‐{Sn 119 }. The tin chemical shifts have been tabulated and discussed on the basis of the concept of electronegativity. The highfield displacement is found attributable to the filling of the 5d‐orbitals of the tin atom.
