The 1 H and 13 C NMR resonances for ractopamine hydrochloride have been assigned. H,H‐COSY and H,C‐COSY were used to assign the aliphatic moiety of the molecule and to correlate protons and carbons on the same ring system. Long‐range selective proton decoupling (LSPD) experiments were used to assign quaternary carbons and to distinguish the two ring systems.
