High‐resolution solid‐state 195 Pt NMR spectra of ammonium, potassium and sodium hexachloroplatinate(IV) and its hydrate were investigated using magic angle spinning of the sample. The isotropic part of the spectra has fine structure originating from dipole–dipole interaction and indirect spin coupling between platinum and chlorine nuclei. The fine structure was analysed theoretically, yielding the indirect spin coupling constants and their anisotropies.
