Complexation of potassium cations by tetraglyme and 18‐crown‐6 as evidenced by 39 K NMR spectroscopy

39 K NMR spectroscopy was used to study a blue potassium solution in tetraglyme containing 18‐crown‐6 and in a solution without the crown ether. Direct proof of the existence of potassium anions and complexed potassium cations in both solutions has been presented.
