Abstract 13 C chemical shifts and 13 C– 31 P coupling constants are reported for nineteen pyrazoles bearing an NPPh 3 substituent at position 5. The three heterocyclic carbons are coupled with the phosphorus ( 2 J , 3 J and 4 J ). These couplings are very sensitive to the nature of the subtituent at position 4 [CHO, CHCHCOMe, CH(CH 2 NO 2 ) 2 , CHNR, CH 2 NHR and CH 2 N(COR)Ar].
