A study was made of some pseudo‐tetrahedral Cr VI and octahedral Cr 0 compounds by high‐resolution 53 Cr NMR spectroscopy. Cr(PF 3 ) 6 and fac ‐Cr(CO) 3 (PF 3 ) 3 provide the first examples of compounds showing a one‐bond coupling, 1 J ( 53 Cr, 31 P), in a 53 Cr NMR spectrum. This technique also provides proof of the formation of CrO 2 ClF in a mixture of the dichloride and difluoride.
