34 S isotope effects on 31 P chemical shifts in thiophosphate esters

The 34 S isotope effect on 31 P chemical shifts was measured for 15 different alkyl thiophosphates. For the doubly bonded S a linear relationship exists between the magnitude of the isotope effect and the 31 P chemical shift. For the singly bonded S no such correlation was found.
