13 C chemical shifts are reported for a series of nitro and phenyl derivatives of 2‐ and 3‐methylindoles and 2‐ and 3‐formylindoles, measured in DMSO‐ d 6 . The 13 C substituent chemical shift (SCS) data are discussed and compared with 1 H SCS data.
