Carbon‐13 chemical shifts of eight 3 H ‐1,4‐benzodiazepine‐2,5(1 H , 4 H )‐diones are reported. The carbonyl chemical shifts have diagnostic value for distinguishing these diones from the isomeric 1,3‐benzodiazepine‐2,5‐dione structures.
