13 C and 199 Hg NMR data are reported for seven bisaryl mercury compounds (aryl = phenyl, o ‐tolyl, m ‐tolyl, p ‐tolyl, 2,5‐xylyl, 2,6‐xylyl and mesityl) and two unsymmetrically substituted compounds, phenyl( o ‐tolyl)‐and phenyl( m ‐tolyl)‐mercury, in deuteriochlorform. Also presented are carbon chemical shift substituent parameters due to mercury substitution on the aromatic ring.
