Using two‐dimensional heteronuclear 1 H‐ 13 C chemical shift correlation spectroscopy via one‐bond and long‐range couplings, all 13 C resonances of bilirubin‐IXα and its dimethyl ester in dimethyl sulphoxide solution are assigned, independently from reference to partial structures. Previous ambiguities in the methyl regions of the 1 H NMR spectra of these compounds are also resolved.
