A simplified procedure is presented for the determination of accurate lanthanide‐induced shifts. Experimental and simulated data are used to show that bound shifts for both 1:1 and 1:2 complexes with shift reagent can be obtained with as few as six or seven different lanthanide: substrate concentration ratios. This represents a substantial saving in experimental effort over the 25 different concentration ratios that were used previously for this method. The modified procedure affords accurate results if care is taken to minimize experimental errors, and if data are obtained over a wide range in the fraction of substrate that is complexed.
