13 C NMR spectra of some bifunctional nitrones containing the aldonitrone functionality as part of the hetero‐1,3‐diene system have been determined, and interpreted for the chemical shifts and coupling constants. The steric structures and long‐range substituent effects on the heteroene carbon resonances are discussed.
