The generalized multipole technique (GMT) is applied successfully to obtain electromagnetic scattering from an arbitrary‐shaped two‐dimensional anisotropic object. The results obtained for circular and square anisotropic cylinders are given along with validations obtained via an alternative method. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
