The use of a novel multilayer analysis formulation enables a very easy analysis of multilayer structures and of ARROW structures as a particular case of study. Characteristics of the ARROW‐B structures, such as the effective index evolution and radiation loss, are presented. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
