A simple method for calculating the resonant characteristics of unilateral fin‐line cavity is presented. The present method, called the space—spectral‐domain method, is found to be superior to several other methods in terms of computer memory and time, and can be easily implemented on any other arbitrarily shaped resonators. The results obtained are compared with the results available in the literature, and are found to be in good agreement. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons. Inc.
