Analysis of a slot‐coupled circular microstrip antenna using a generalized transmission‐line model theory is presented. An equivalent circuit for the antenna can be derived based on this theoretical approach, and the input impedance of the antenna can be readily calculated. Theoretical results for various slot lengths are presented and also compared with the measured data. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
