Results on a dual‐frequency microstrip patch antenna fed by using an inclined slot in the ground plane of a microstrip line are described. The frequencies of operation are determined by choosing the dimension of the rectangular patch and by adjusting the inclination angle of the slot. The antenna is easy to construct and results obtained from an antenna designed to operate around 9 and 12 GHz are presented. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons. Inc.
