Theoretical results illustrating the behavior of stacked electromagnetically coupled patch antennas are presented, using a recently developed rigorous model for probe‐fed microstrip antennas. Examples of design guides are given and the need for comprehensive design guides is noted. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons. Inc.
