This article proposes a unified method for | J 1 (u)/u | distribution synthesis in an equispaced circular ring array. The | J 1 (u)/u | distribution has much lower side lobes than that in the J 0 (u) distribution. The simulation results using the proposed method have shown this possibility. Hence, the | J 1 (u)/u | distribution can be utilized to control the side‐lobe levels in most applications.
