A theoretical development for the analysis of a microstrip antenna on a conical surface operating in the TM 10 mode is described here. It consists of using the cavity model with magnetic side walls for the calculation of the resonant frequency and input impedance. The dyadic Green's‐function formulation is used for the calculation of the radiated far fields. Particular antennas are examined and numerical results are shown for the TM 10 mode.
