A tunable interconnection network using a photorefractive (PR) crystal with an array of diode lasers is proposed. The interconnection data are wavelength multiplexed in a PR crystal reflection‐type hologram. An N × N interconnection network can be realized by N holograms, for which the network can be reconfigured in real‐time mode. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
