A microwave correlator is connected to the inputs of an isothermal passive two port made of two antennas placed on both sides of an isothermal lossy material. We verify in which way the output signal of the correlator depends on the scattering matrix of the two port, on the temperature and reference temperature of the radiometer, and on the delay time of the correlator. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
