An infinite phased antenna array of plane parallel plate structures, where every other structure is short circuited at a distance t from the aperture, has been investigated. In the analysis, a modal matching technique has been applied. It can be concluded that both reflection and mutual coupling can be reduced considerably by properly selecting the choke depth t and the material inside the plane parallel plate structures and the chokes (e r ). © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
