This Letter presents an approximate solution to the problem of computing the bistatic scattering width (BSW) for nonlinear, isotropic, infinite, circular cylinders illuminated by TM waves. An iterative solution is developed for weak nonlinearities of the Kerr type, within some approximations for the internal field. Some preliminary results are reported, which show the effects of some of the quantities involved in the nonlinear process. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
