The generalized spectral‐domain‐exponential matrix technique is used for analyzing the reflection and transmission characteristics of a grounded and ungrounded uniaxial chiro‐omega slab, respectively. Parameter studies are performed to investigate the effects of changing the orientations of ω elements on the reflection and transmission coefficients. The potential applications of uniaxial chiro‐omega media for microwave and millimeter wave regimes are pointed out. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
